Opened in Nepal in 1994, the Alliance Française de Katmandou promotes the French language by offering French classes open to all. It is the only certified French institute in Nepal. Alliance Française de Katmandou aims to spread the Francophone culture by organizing cultural events, which promote both an intercultural dialogue and diversity. Furthermore, it offers its students free access to its in-house media center. The Alliance Française de Katmandou welcomes around 1,500 students per year and more than 6,000 visitors attend cultural events each year.
